Thank You

The poem has always
been good to me

I’ve tried other ways

I have walked away
from them all

But the poem
has always been there
when my hands needed
some good work to do

This is not an empty sentiment

Just a thankful observation
on a Saturday night
in September

Ballet is like that for me. It’s always there to go back to.

What’s up with the lack of comment links on the front page?

Fixed.

You are a disciplined woman Candice. Ballet is brutal. Odd that the body has to go through such a beating to create extraordinary beauty.

That’s the only way to make it look easy.

And I’m not a proper ballerina, I never danced en pointe, I veered off into jazz and modern dance in high school and did semi-professional company work in college round 1. -Then- I could dance. Now… I haven’t even landed a double pirouette since before the storm.

Ballet is ordered and structured, and easy to pick back up, because it’s all the same things just arranged in different ways.
