Psalm 62

by Robert Bruce on April 20, 2007 · 4 comments

This morning, I want rest.

And I’m not talking about two weeks in the sun.

King David knew how to wail, so I’ll let him do it for me…

Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
-Psalm 62.8

*This comes from my old friend Henry Curl. He’s been working on a cycle of songs, new music laid over the 1912 Psalter. The original text is unchanged.

I really like the song. We have a very talented woman at church who does the same sort of thing. She calls her work Alternate Melodies. I followed the link to where that mp3 is located but I couldn’t find any reference on the church site. Do you know if Henry has his own site where I can hear more of his music?

PS how’s the writer and poets site going?

Rong - Check here for the rest of the Psalms. Or here for his band, Jonah.

The “Other” site is coming along, thanks for asking. I’ll probably bump back the start date a week or two as I am a moron with projects… are you sending something in?

Bruce - I am seriously considering submitting ’something’ not sure what yet. However, being slightly intimidated by your prose, I may sit back and see just what caliber of ’stuff’ gets posted. ;-)
